D34 Update and Communication - August 28, 2020
Antioch CCSD 34 Families,
I know I have sent a lot of communications this week, however, before heading into the weekend, I wanted to check-in one more time. It is important that you know how much I appreciate your flexibility, trust, understanding, and partnership. This has been a difficult week and I hope you are all well. I am wishing you all a safe weekend and want you to know we are here for you if you need anything.
Here are three important updates…if you have any questions, please contact a building or district administrator:
- Next Friday, September 4, 2020, will be a Remote Learning Planning Day. The Illinois State Board of Education has given each district five of these days to use for professional development, planning, etc. Since we will be a few weeks in to Remote Learning 2.0, the purpose of this day is to grant staff members a chance to plan, collaborate, coordinate, and develop their lessons and themselves. No new student work will be assigned on these days, however, students will be able to use the day as an opportunity to catch up on or complete outstanding assignments, if they choose. The Remote Learning Supervision Centers will be closed. The Champions Program will be open.
- Curriculum Night for Grades K-5 will be moved to September 14. Please save this date and be on the lookout for communications from the buildings regarding time and schedules for the evening.
- Curriculum Night for AUGS and the Early Learning Center will be September 17. Please save this date and be on the lookout for communications from the buildings regarding time and schedules for the evening.
I know these are changes to what was originally on calendars, but we appreciate the flexibility in ensuring our programming is when and where it needs to be.
Have a safe and wonderful weekend,
Dr. Bradford Hubbard
