D34 Food Distribution During COVID-19 School Closures
Antioch School District 34 is committed to continuing to provide support to students during the COVID-19 closure. To that end, beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, D34 will be providing "Grab-n-Go" lunches on the Northside of Antioch Upper Grade School (check map for location). Lunches will be available to any District 34 students, Monday - Friday, from 11:00 - 12:30 p.m.
In an attempt to know how many lunches we will need to prepare, we are asking families to respond to this Google Form. This form will be sent periodically, providing opportunities for families to opt-in, as needed.
If any family is in need of lunches, but unable to pick them up, please contact Julie Byczek, Food Service Manager, at (847) 838-8409 or at firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact Mary Holsinger, Director of Transportation, at (847) 838-8388 or at email@example.com. We will work diligently in trying to ensure this resource is available to anyone in need, including the possibility of scheduling a home delivery.
In addition to the daily lunches being made available by District 34, Open Arms Mission has worked incredibly hard to position itself to be a resource and continue to meet the needs of families during this difficult time and COVID-19 closure.
Open Arms Mission has client hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. As they do during the summer for families with school-aged children, Open Arms Mission will be including extra food distribution during the COVID-19 school closure. Please visit their website for additional information, contact information, and location.
Lastly, during this trying and uncertain time, for those that are able, please consider donating to and/or volunteering at Open Arms Mission. They take incredibly good care of our communities and families, and we are all fortunate and thankful to have them in our midst.
