National Honor Junior Society is starting with a new advisor, Ms Guanci, aguanci@antioch34.com. If you were inducted into NHSJ last year you need to go into the new NHJS google classroom and fill out your returning student application. If you are interested in being in this organization you can apply, forms are also in the new NHJS google classroom. Being in NHJS is an honor and has volunteer and leadership requirements. Some of these volunteer hours will be school run and some volunteer hours students will need to seek out.

The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in the students of secondary schools. Eligible students may apply for membership by filling out google classroom application Eligible students are in 7th or 8th Grade and have a grade point average of 3.6 or above in the 1st trimester of the current school year. Students must also maintain a 3.6 cumulative grade point average to remain as a member in good standing as well as participate in the required meetings and volunteer activities. Application does not guarantee acceptance into the society. The applications will be reviewed by a faculty council (which does NOT include the NJHS advisor). Members of NJHS are expected to exhibit enthusiasm for scholarship as well as exhibit the following qualities: Scholarship, Leadership, Character, Service and Citizenship.
