Welcome to 2nd grade! My name is Kathy Niemi and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.  I have been in education for 29 years – including teaching Kindergarten (general and special education), teaching Second grade, and serving as the principal at Hillcrest Elementary.  I graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and an endorsement certification in Special Education.  I received my master’s degree from Northern Illinois University in Educational Administration. My family and I live in Antioch.  I have 2 sons, one a sophmore at Marquette University and the other a senior at Antioch High School. I enjoy watching hockey and cheering for the Chicago Blackhawks and Cubs.  I look forward to a great year!
