Welcome to 8th Grade Titan's English Language Arts!
To tell you a little about myself, I started teaching at Antioch Upper Grade in 2004. I went to DePaul University, acquiring a liberal arts degree with a major in English literature and a minor in Psychology. For my graduate studies, I attended Northern Illinois University and St. Xavier University. I graduated masters degrees in both Elementary Education and Reading, receiving a Reading Specialist degree. I also have endorsements in gifted and ESL education and I am a certified yoga instructor. I have taught 6,7, & 8th grade Reading, Language Arts, Journalism, and Social Studies at AUGS.
My husband, Brad, is from South Africa and we have 3 children. And we also have a really crazy, crabby cat with no tail named Shady, a ginormous fluffy dog with one blue eye named Milo, and a feisty cat named Phil, currently creating a lot of chaos!
Some of my favorite things are spending time with my family, learning & reading, exploring different cultures, making and eating different ethnic foods, old muscle cars, yoga, Shakes (my bf), nutrition, Chicago, coffee and dark chocolate!
