Mrs. Rachel Andrew
Hello! My name is Rachel Andrew and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year. This is my 3rd year teaching and my 1st year teaching 1st grade. I enjoy teaching because I love watching the students' excitement when they discover something new. Even though the students are still young, every day is an opportunity to help them discover how to make a difference in the world around them. By building a strong foundation of the basic skills needed for learning as well as a passion for learning at a young age, they will be well prepared to become life-long learners.
I grew up in a tiny town in upstate NY as the second oldest of seven kids, then moved to PA and GA, before finally settling down in Antioch. My family now consists of my husband, two sons (Troy and Clyde), and daughter (Olivia). We also have two cats and two mice that help round out our family.
I started off my education at Philadlephia Biblical University where I completed my Certificate in Jewish Studies. I then atteneded University of Phoenix and received my Bachelor's in Psychology and my Master's in Elementary Education. I continued my education with a Certificate in Educational Leadership from DeVry University. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We spend a lot of time pursuing extra-curricullar interests, especially hockey and football. I love to bake, complete escape rooms and corn mazes, build legos and puzzles, try new things, and party plan!
I look forward to getting to know your child throughout this year, teaching them, and making great memories. Feel free to contact me via phone or e-mail if you have any comments, questions, or concerns!
