Herr Madler

Willkommen auf meiner Webpage!!!  Welcome to my webpage!!!

My name is Herr Madler and I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade German at AUGS. Here is a bit about myself:  I'm a graduate of the University of Iowa and Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, have been teaching history, math and German at the college, HS and MS levels since the early nineties. I have mostly taught in Wisconsin, but also in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  Since 2018 I have been spending my summers as a credit teacher at Waldsee German Language Village in Bemidji, Minnesota.  I joined AUGS in 2019, but I still live in Wisconsin with my 1 year old puppy and my 3 children - who also know German!  I'm an avid Bears fan, so I am thrilled to be back in Illinois and teaching at AUGS! On weekends you will likely find me with my kids or biking, hiking or working in the yard.

In this class we will study the language and culture of the German-speaking countries.  Google Classroom is a great way for you to stay on top of things.  Almost everything will be posted there regarding our class.  A few things will be sent out on email.

If you stay on task, do your work in and out of class and have fun with the language, you will do well.

Auf Wiedersehen!!!
