Mrs. Debbie Johnson
I am very excited to be a part of the Hillcrest Team this upcoming school year! Before coming to Hillcrest, my previous experience teaching includes all ages from preschool through adult education. Last year, I was a resource teacher at W.C. Petty. From 2016-2018, I was the 3rd and 4th grade Special Education Inclusion Teacher at Griffith Elementary in Tennessee. A few of my other positions include: Resource Language Arts teacher at Ellison High School in Texas, 5th and 6th grade teacher at a private elementary school in Mississippi, and nutrition education through University of Wisconsin -Extension.
My family relocated to Antioch in July of 2018. My husband, Aaron, served in the US Army, and his current employer has also relocated us a few times for new job opportunities. We have lived in Pennsylvania, Alabama, Texas, South Korea, Wisconsin, Mississippi, back to Wisconsin, Tennessee and now Illinois. We have 3 children who LOVE the snow and experiencing all 4 seasons! Drew is a senior in college, Blake is a junior in high school, and Ashley is in the third grade. Our animal family member is a boxer named Winnie. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family being out and about seeing new places. When I have some quiet time, I love to read and occasionally catch a movie.
