What are we working on?
Continue to work with your student on writing their first and last name. Students should work on using a capital letter for the 1st letter and lowercase for the rest. Your student should also be able to orally tell you the letters in their name.
Students should practice writing the numbers 0-10 correctly.
Letters and Sounds
Each month we will cover several new letters. We will learn the letter names, the sounds they make, and the letter formation.

High frequency words
**High frequency words are words that come up frequently in text. Students should work on memorizing these words (not sound them out)

Whole group reading
In reading we will listen to many read alouds. Students will work on their listening skills while reading and work to comprehend the most important parts of the story.
We are working on making connections to the stories, events and characters.
In writing, we are adding details to our writing to give the reader more information.
In math, we are working on adding and subtracting through 10. Students can listen to story problems, draw a picture and write a number sentence.
