A little about Miss Jones..
My name is Tiffany Jones and this is my 22nd year teaching in D34. I graduated from Illinois State University and earned my Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy from Benedictine University. I also attained my Reading Specialist certification. As a lifelong learner, I continue to learn and apply the latest technology and instructional strategies. I consider myself to be a challenging, nurturing, and dedicated teacher. I have high expectations for myself and students. I promise that all of my students will learn, grow, and enjoy the process!
Students quickly discover that I cannot resist sniffing books. I love the scent of a brand new book and even a musty old book. My passion has always been reading, and I attribute this to my parents for making books a natural and enjoyable part of our everyday lives. I have enjoyed school my entire life, which is why it was important for me to become a teacher and pass my love of learning to all my students.
Once your children walk into my classroom, I treat them like they are my own children. I truly love each of my students and respect them as individuals. I will do everything in my power to pass on my love of learning to your children. They will understand the importance of education and believe in themselves, just as much as I believe in them.
I am an Antioch resident and truly believe in and support District 34. My son is a sophomore at Antioch High School and my daughter is a 7th grader at AUGS. My children and I love the outdoors, holidays, and spending time together. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and taking nature walks. I am invested in our district as a parent, teacher, and resident. I strive to be the best teacher for my students and pride myself on meeting not only academic needs, but social-emotional needs as well. I serve on the Building Leadership Committee and welcome any Professional Development that involves best practice. My passion for teaching is just as strong 22 years later.
Do not hesitate to contact me about anything. We are a team! I always have time to discuss your child. I am confident that this will be a spectacular school year, and look forward to building a fantastic relationship with you and your child.
