Our Oakland library is very fortunate to have many new titles added to our library shelves. Books have arrived from orders placed using the $10,000 we received in a grant as a result of our PTO spending $5,000 on books earlier in the school year. Also, available are books from our Scholastic Book Fair. We have excellent choices for everyone's reading pleasure including the 2011 State of Illinois award lists--Monarch (K-3), Bluestem (2-4) and Rebecca Caudill (4-8).
Please remember to read each day of the summer break. It is vitally important in students' reading development to read when school is not in session. Many students achieved reading successes this year and in order to maintain that growth reading must continue to be a part of summer days. Remember to R E A D!
