Battle of the Books, an optional reading competitive program, is set to begin! Students will receive the book list on Tuesday, 1/24, and can begin reading immediately. Battles begin in April!
 Some lucky students received Kindles or Nooks over the holidays, and they have asked if they can bring them to school. Students may bring them to school, but it is with the knowledge that they are totally responsible for these items. They may only be used for reading books, and they need to keep them in the room, as the room is locked whenever we leave. The school setting and students can sometimes be rough on electronic gadgets, so please take the time to discuss this and decide as a family what is right for you.
A reminder to Parents: If you will be picking up your child from school, please send a note in the morning with your child's name, the date, and the time you will be picking up your child. If the office is not aware of the plans for a pick-up, your child will be sent on the bus. Remember to check the Friday Update each week. This will keep you informed of special activities, upcoming tests, and general classroom news. Please remember to call the office at 847-838-8181 before 9 AM to report an absence or tardy.
